Constraining the Curvaton Scenario
We analyse the curvaton scenario in the context of supersymmetry. Supersymmetric theories contain many scalars, and therefore many curvaton candidates. To obtain a scale invariant perturbation spectrum, the curvaton mass should be small during inflation m ≪ H . This can be achieved by invoking symmetries, which suppress the soft masses and non-renormalizable terms in the potential. Other model-...
متن کاملSpectral Index in Curvaton Scenario
A red tilted primordial power spectrum is preferred by WMAP five-year data and a large positive local-type non-Gaussianity fNL might be observed as well. In this short note we find that a red tilted and large non-Gaussian primordial power spectrum cannot be naturally obtained in curvaton model, because fNL is related to the initial condition of inflation. Inflation [1] provides an elegant mecha...
متن کاملCurvaton scenario with low scale inflation revisited
In its simplest form the curvaton paradigm requires the Hubble parameter during inflation to be bigger than 10GeV, but this bound may be evaded in non-standard settings. In the heavy curvaton scenario the curvaton mass increases significantly after the end of inflation. We reanalyze the bound in this set up, taking into account the upper bound on the curvaton mass from direct decay. We obtain H...
متن کاملCurvaton Scenario with Affleck-Dine Baryogenesis
We discuss the curvaton scenario with the Affleck-Dine baryogenesis. In this scenario, non-vanishing baryonic entropy fluctuation may be generated even without primordial fluctuation of the Affleck-Dine field. Too large entropy fluctuation is inconsistent with the observations and hence constraints on the curvaton scenario with the Affleck-Dine baryogenesis are obtained. We calculate the baryon...
متن کاملLarge Non-Gaussianity Implication for Curvaton Scenario
We argue that the energy density of a light scalar field should not be less than H in the inflationary Universe. This requirement implies that the nonGaussianity parameter fNL is bounded by the tensor-scalar ratio r from above, namely fNL < 522·r 1 4 . If fNL = 10 , inflation occurred around the GUT scale.
